"Invisible Demon"
Posted at 5:12 PM
(yes, another poem)The demon has arrived again
Right on time in his sleek automobile
Tempting his tortured soul for a ride
If only he didn't agree.
This darkness overwhelmed him
Swallowed him whole
Could've sworn he'd been devoured by a ghoul.
No proof of his existence at all was in place
I ponder a tortured soul's taste.
Behind his dark eyes
I've seen a glimmer of discretion
Hurting others was never his intention
Even if it was the outcome, he was fully aware
Life is just never really fair.
The stars were dim
Polluted by forced light
Blinding him with a deceiving white
He didn't need sympathy from anybody at all
Now he's put up these indestructible walls.
Even angels have their scars
Tainted by existence
They no longer possessed that initial innocence
The darkness had its beauty
And in beauty there was gloom
They never co-exist, I assume.
His chances were scarce
His wallet was bare
No longer did he care.
Faring better off alone was his motto
And clearly, he's misunderstood
Ever since he began hiding
Under that gray hood.
Wishful thinking, I needed to know
How to crash the demon's car
Before he fully had him in his grasp
Before he's been taken too far
Seeing him enduring the worst
I knew he needed to be brought back
From the darkness, this curse
But such strength I lack.
No longer a fallen angel
But one that takes flight
Never again will the shadows take him
Deep into this formidable night.
